L'album dal vivo, estratto dallo spettacolo di Halloween a tema Rolling Stones del 2009 della band , è stato pubblicato nel 2015 come uscita solo in vinile. Insieme all'annuncio, l' ensemble guidato da Warren Haynes ha condiviso la sua interpretazione di "Under My Thumb".

Registrato dal vivo al The Tower Theatre, appena fuori Filadelfia, Pennsylvania, il 31 ottobre 2009, Stoned Side of the Mule vede il gruppo blues del sud portare avanti la sua tradizione di costumi musicali. Le puntate precedenti includevano tributi ai Pink Floyd , ascoltati in Dark Side of the Mule , così come ai Led Zeppelin . Nel 2009, tuttavia, Gov't Mule ha ribaltato il suo limite su una delle band fondamentali del rock n' roll.
