Ben Harper pubblica il nuovo album Winter Is For Lovers, che vede protagonisti solo Ben Harper e la sua chitarra lap steel Monteleone ed è una raccolta di 15 composizioni strumentali originali immaginati come una sinfonia. A partire dal 1994, Ben Harper è riuscito a ridefinire i confini musicali e, per tutta la sua carriera, la sua chitarra lap steel ha avuto un ruolo determinante nel suo sound. Eppure lartista non aveva mai realizzato un album che mostrasse tutto il suo amore per lo strumento e tutta la sua maestria nel suonarlo. La musica di Winter Is For Lovers è profondamente radicata nel DNA di Ben Harper e ci porta indietro fino a The Folk Music Store, il noto negozio di strumenti musicali che i suoi nonni aprirono in California negli anni 50. Il negozio ha ospitato artisti come Sonny Terry, Brownie McGhee, il Reverendo Gary Davis, Doc Watson e John Fahey e lo stesso Ben Harper, che ci ha lavorato durante la sua adolescenza, ha avuto lopportunità di conoscere Ry Cooder, Leonard Cohen, Taj Mahal, David Lindley e Jackson Browne.
